Dancers Disproving Disabilities
Founded in 2015 and based in Franklin, Dancing Divas and Dudes was built on a simple but powerful idea — every individual deserves to be seen for their ability, their potential, and their purpose.
We are more than a dance program. We are a goal-driven team, a supportive community, and a movement proving that opportunity and belief matter more than any limitation. Through weekly practices, public performances, and competitive dance, we give our dancers a stage — and a place to belong.
Our Mission
We exist to create an environment where individuals with special needs can grow physically, mentally, and emotionally through dance—while building confidence, friendships, and a sense of belonging.
Through performances and community engagement, we strive to shift perspectives—showing the world that ability is not defined by limitations, but by opportunity and belief.

Traditional dance competitions were never designed with equitable scoring for dancers with special needs. So we changed that.
Dancing Divas and Dudes partnered with competitions to introduce inclusive divisions, helped develop fair and equitable scoring systems, and advocated for dancers to be recognized for their performance — not their diagnoses.
Competed at multiple dance competitions
Earning recognition on stages where our dancers had never before had the chance to compete.
Opened doors for other adaptive programs
Our advocacy created pathways for inclusive dance well beyond our own team.
