Ballet nor Tap shoes should be purchased at Payless Shoe Source. Their ballet shoes do not bend. Their tap shoes are slippery.

Purchase Dance wear your child Loves and looks forward to wearing for class. for example-leotard and tights, biketard, dance dress....
We have no specific colors or uniforms.
We avoid big tutus or wide legged jazz pants, as both are difficult for class.

You may want to take a pair of white socks to the store for fitting your dance shoes?? This way you can buy them a tiny bit larger and hopefully your child will not outgrow them as soon.
For the ballet shoes, make sure your little girls toes can straighten in the vamp of the shoe when they pick their heels up or releve. There are many widths in ballet shoes.
If ballet shoes are so big that you have to tighten the elastic to keep them on, they are too big. The elastic will cut into their Achilles tendon.
If the tap shoes are uncomfortable in the heel area, try adding moleskin.
